Four new luxury homes will rise on a 4-acre pocket of wooded land off North Main Street in Southampton, just south of County Road 39.
Bishops Grant is the next foray into Southampton Village by the Beechwood Organization, the developers of the Bishops Pond luxury condominiums on Bishops Lane, which went on to expand in December with two new buildings on Magee Street to create a total of 79 units on about 16 acres.
This time, however, the residences will be stand-alone, privately owned 6,500-square-foot homes on 1 acre apiece.
“We’re appealing to those who tell us they want the same quality as Bishops Pond but in a more traditional, new-but-classic single-family home,” said Steven Dubb, Beechwood’s principal, in an April press release. The homes will start at $4.5 million.
Construction is expected to begin this month. Designed by Southampton architect Jason Paremba of Jason Thomas, the homes each will have seven bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms and be situated on a private cul-de-sac.
The property is part of an original land grant to the Bishop family that has changed hands for the first time since 1678, according to the developers.
