The Belmont Child Care Association (BCCA) and leading jockeys Edgar Prado, John Velazquez and retired Hall-of-Famer Angel Cordero will co-host the Third Annual Belmont Stakes Celebration at the clubhouse at Meadowbrook Pointe, 1100 Corporate Drive, Westbury. The celebration will take place on Sunday, June 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The celebration will feature the unveiling of famous 3-D pop artist Charles Fazzino’s official commemorative program cover artwork of the 139th Running of the Belmont Stakes, commissioned by the New York Racing Association (NYRA). The original painting for the 2007 Belmont Stakes will be donated by NYRA to the BCCA benefit in Saratoga Springs, honoring Barbaro’s owners Gretchen and Roy Jackson on August 22. Anna House, the first fulltime on-site childcare center at a racetrack, is for the children of the backstretch workers at Belmont and Aqueduct Racetracks. There is a suggested donation for the Belmont Stakes celebration of $50 per person; children will be admitted free. All proceeds will benefit the BCCA’s Anna House.
