Volunteers and Neighbors in Amityville Rebuild Home Devastated by Sandy

  • December 2, 2012
  • 2:16 am

Volunteers and neighbors in Amityville spent the last eight days rebuilding a home devastated by Sandy.

Peter Picucci’s home suffered severe water damage during the storm, and as of last week, was inhabitable due to mold and mildew.

Volunteers worked around the clock for eight days to rebuild the 96-year-old man’s home from top to bottom, free of charge.

“My prayers to God were answered,” said Picucci. “I asked when are you going to make something good happen, and here it is. I couldn’t be any happier.”
